Carmela LaVigna Coyle, not being terrifically sporty herself, recalls winning 1st place in the third grade fifty-yard dash. "I couldn’t understand where all the other runners were until I crossed the finish line. They were all far behind me! Imagine!" She was motivated to write this story by her own sporty princess, Annie. Carmela spends many a day watching her daughter not only play well, but play with grace, confidence, and kindness-- traits that, she insists, define a true winner. Carmela lives (and plays) in Colorado, with her family and puppy. Batter UP!
